Tomorrow's The Day ....

... that the blog hits half a million visits. It's taken a long time and after the visits dropped I wasn't sure how long it would be, but given that I'm now polling 150 visits a day and there are 80 more visits required it's safe to say that Wednesday the 19th of February is the day that SevenDaysIn hits the half a million mark. I'm quite surprised that that single sentence consists of over fifty words, though there is something that tells me that at school I used to write 100 word essays, that's like two or three sentences, there is no way that that could be true so I think my mind is playing tricks on me there.

My initial attempt at book writing floundered and died, and I do admire the people who can actually string together coherent text that grabs and keeps you attention. Clive Barker's "Weaveworld" and "Imajica" certainly do that , although not for the more genteel folk among us but for me riveting stuff.

So this is a latish Tuesday placeholder, which may bring itn one or two more views before I go to bed. I'm not really sure what piece of music to play although I introduced some friends to Barclay James Harvest recently via "Poor Man's Moody Blues" and for some reason the incredibly contrived "Titles" maybe appropriate , wonderful tune, wonderful music but the lyrics are made up of Breatles song titles so it can be deemed very clever or very crass, but I do actually like it.

See what you think and let me know with a comment.

Octoberpost

This is intended to be a short post just to say I have equalled my record number of posts on this blog for a year and I still have just over two months of the year left.  It was helped by my #August50 sequence that was the first time I did fifty posts in a month , and I am sure I won't be doing that again any time soon.

As I'm writing this it's dark, fireworks are going off and dogs are barking. It should be illegal except on designated nights because it upsets and scares pets and it is nowhere near Guy Fawkes night or Bonfire Night whichever you want to call it or celebrate.

For some reasons Barclay James Harvest's "Octoberon" album came to mind, just for the title although I loved the cover I don't really know the album, but I do remember "Rock'n'Roll Star" being a single. They produced some great music but never really hit paydirt, though apparently they gave Harvest records it's name, and they had , among others, Pink Floyd on their roster.

I first got into them seeing them perform "Thank You" on  The Old Grey Whistle Test with its brilliant loping guitar riff and I've alwys enjoyed their music though they are not the top of my playlists.

Well my next post will set a new record, so I am sure that will happen before October fades away .....

Three Really Nice Things

Mmmm
Today three people have really made my day just by appreciating something I had done. What I did wasn't much but it does make you feel good when people appreciate your efforts on something. The people will probably never see this but it is amazing what effect a simple well intentioned thank you can do. It makes you want to try harder for people and makes you appreciate those people as well.

This is going to be a short post because it's really just about another way you can brink positivity to the fore and make people happier. If you engage with people , talk with people , your smile can carry through the most mundane of mediums , even text.

So if you can thank someone for something, do it with a smile, and bring sunshine into yours and their life. Enjoy tonight everyone. This also gives me an excuse to include one of Barclay James Harvest's rockier moments which I first heard on the Old Grey Whistle Test , and it is an absolute killer riff. As I said Enjoy your night.
